Burgers and Beer

We are having a quiet day today so breakfast in the apartment is followed by a trip across the river to stock up on wine & beer from Les Vignerons.

They stock an everyday red wine with my favourite wine label ever.

A trip to the butchers on the way back to the apartment supplies us with burgers for the BBQ.
Whilst the charcoal is heating up we make bruschetta.

We spend a lazy afternoon in the garden before heading out to Eataly.

This huge food hub is situated in an old air terminal in Ostiense. Set over four floors it includes 'eating stations' as well as food to buy from all over Italy. It even has its own brewery & bakery.

It also boasts a fresh fruit & vegetable market, though I can't understand why anyone would buy produce here when there are wonderful markets in practically every neighbourhood of Rome.

Before leaving we enjoyed aperitivo in the piazza on the ground floor. Each Wednesday aperitivo hour is dedicated to a famous Italian piazza - this week it was Piazza di Spagna

Our drinks & nibbles were accompanied by live music from a jazz quartet.
We returned to the apartment to put together a 'bottom of the fridge' supper as it is our last day here tomorrow.
